This notice explains how I handle personal information when you visit this website or contact me through it.

Contacting me through this website

If you use the contact form, I will receive the information you provide, such as your name, contact details and message, so that I can respond to your enquiry and, where appropriate, take steps towards arranging counselling.

Please keep your initial message brief and avoid including detailed personal or health information at this stage.

Information submitted through the contact form is stored in my WordPress.com account and notified to my Gmail account. If you go on to become a client, I will provide you with my full Client Privacy Notice explaining how I handle information in connection with counselling.

Cookies and website statistics

My website is hosted by WordPress.com. WordPress.com provides Jetpack Stats as a built-in feature of my current website plan. Jetpack Stats processes basic website traffic information, such as page views, referrers and user-agent information, on WordPress.com’s servers. WordPress.com states that IP addresses used for this purpose are anonymised and that Jetpack Stats does not place client-side tracking cookies on visitors’ devices.

I do not use Google Analytics and have not installed additional analytics plugins.

WordPress.com may use cookies or similar technologies for other aspects of providing its services. Further information about how WordPress.com and its parent company, Automattic, handle information is available in Automattic’s Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.

How long I keep website enquiries

Enquiries that do not lead to counselling are normally kept only for as long as needed to respond to and manage the enquiry, unless there is a particular reason to retain them longer.

Your rights

You have rights under UK data-protection law in relation to your personal information. These can include rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction and objection, depending on the circumstances.

If you have a question about how I use your information or wish to exercise your rights, please use the contact form on this website.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK’s independent data-protection regulator, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
